so there is a word, and you have to figure the meaning ( it's multiple choice ) ... if you get it correct there is a harder word... and 20 grains of rice are given through the United Nations World Food Program... if you get it wrong it steps back a little.. every correct word = 20 grains of rice.
and it rates the level of vocabulary 1- 50 ... today i tapped out at level 40

reminds me of a story...
so this common man is brought before a powerful man.. he has done the powerful man a favor... as a reward the common man asks for a chess board to be brought in ... on the first square , one grain of rice is put down.the common man asks that for every square the amount of rice put down is double the previous square... the end result is
18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains of rice, umm about 597,872,151,674.7 metric tonnes of rice or roughly 80 tonnes of rice for every man, woman, and child on the face of the world... enough to feed everyone for 1000 years... if we ate as much rice /year as the average person in china... based on the amount of rice produced last year in the world it would take around 15 generations to grow that much rice... it really adds up, doesn't it?
okay but only 20 grains of rice per word... thats nuthin... or is it? it took me about 15 minutes to get 1000 grains of rice... lets assume we do it once a week.. to 1000 grains thats almost 4 pounds of rice a year for 15 minutes out of our week... if we did it every day ... 26 pounds of rice per year .. 15 minutes a day! i spend more time than that changing the channel in a day... and i like the words they use .. when i get it right i feel smart !

errr rightbut heres the deal
the fish gets hijacked, the fish get poisoned , there is no fish because the water is over fished, the fish are controlled by a regime that decides the soldiers derserve the fish, there is just not enough fish because someone is hoarding the fish... so lets send more fish... errr rice we are talking about rice...
the united nations world food program does it's best to assure that people get the basic needs .. that the person who needs it gets the caloric intake on saturday to go out out sunday .. and fish? or build , or farm... kids get enough food to sleep so they can learn...
a cup of rice, 1000 grains and they have some of what they need... i don't think any of us have been really hungry , or shot at on a daily basis...and most of the people who are suffering from hunger don't have a choice, they are not deployed by the government, they are not in harms way because they signed up for it, they are innocent!
